Today, after I spent an hour or so at Costa reading for my last theological essay, I thought that it would be a nice day to take a long walk along the Thames Path. I suggested this to Niki, she liked the idea, and so after an early lunch we were off…
The clouds threatened rain throughout the day. We started off through the town of Iffley to pick up the Thames Path at the Iffley lock. Just as we got across the lock it began to rain pretty good. We picked up the pace a bit to get under the bridge that was up ahead in order to don our Northface, water-proof jackets. Once that was done we set off again. About a mile later the sun came out and the rest of the walk was gorgeous.
We did around 7 miles I think (3.5 out and back). It was a great walk and really good to get out of Oxford for a day. On the way back we stopped at a pub in Iffley to get an OJ (for Niki) and a pint (for me). And it looks like we got back just in time because it is dumping buckets outside right now. Enjoy the pics! (there are more on the Flickr Photo page as well)
