Florida Vacation

After a rocky beginning, my trip to Florida did end up being fun. The day after arriving we spent catching a Cubs game at a local sports bar eating American favorites like wings and loaded fries with ranch. We took it easy that night. Friday and Saturday were spent at the beach in Daytona. Saturday morning Chris and I woke up in time to watch the sunrise on the beach. We both got slightly sunburnt even after applying 70 SPF!

Sunday was spent all day at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom! We got to see loads of different animals and watch shows with animals doing tricks. Unfortunately, my camera died shortly after arriving but I did still manage to snap a couple of good pictures. The oddest animal I saw there is called Reeves Muntjac and even if you look it up on Google you won’t understand how disturbing it is to see this animal in person.

Monday, we checked out outlet shops and the Millenia Mall. The shopping selections were good and included some of my favorites like Banana Republic, Gap Body, and L’Occitane. Not much of anything was purchased though because touristy places like Orlando are often overpriced. Nevertheless, it was fun shopping.

Tuesday, we were back at Disney for round 2. This time Magical Kingdom was our place of choice and I had my camera fully charged. We spent literally all day and night there. The only complaint I have is how long it took standing in line to get a picture with a Disney character. I won’t even mention how long I stood in line to have my picture taken with Mickey and Minnie. It was a great day filled with great food, 3D shows, Disney characters full of character, and loads of sunshine.

Wednesday was a busy day spent entirely on getting ready for my flight back later that afternoon. Most of you know how much I miss certain American products and insist on taking loads back with me so this trip was, of course, no different. Chris and I drove around shopping for everything on my list to ensure satisfaction, for my missed products, before I took flight back across the ocean. Fortunately, I was able to fit everything I planned on bringing back in my expandable carry on and I purchased a small bag as well which will work for a nice diaper bag! It’s a Ralph Lauren bag and it’s my best buy of the whole trip. Bryce is even pleased with it!

Well, like I said the trip was good and I’m glad to have had the chance for a vacation prior to all the changes getting ready to unfold for Bryce and myself. I hope you enjoy the pictures (which will be coming soon!).

Sounds like a fun time! I’m interested in hearing more about your new Ralph Lauren bag! I bought two RL purses in Texas when we were there. No souveniers (that stuff is way too weird), just handbags! :)

Aha! I’ve found you and got some of my curiosity satisfied (not all). Gloria and I were through Orlando on our way to visit my brother in Naples, FL, but we never got out of the Airport. We didn’t even see Disneyworld from the air. So your stay there was more exciting than ours, Niki. It sounds like they don’t take pictures so you know for sure about the baby - like our day. But then they also sent the father home and said they would call when it was all over.

God bless the three of you.
Williard and Gloria

Williard, Very good to hear from you. I trust that both you and Gloria are well.

You stood in line to get a kiss from Mickey? Never done that. May be next time - though not Mickey, Cinderella perhaps.
