Baby-shower

Yesterday, I invited friends from work and from the college for a baby-shower. There was a good turn out, approximately 10 women, and we had a good time. We had something in common; it was our first babyshower (my first babyshower for myself) and since the English do not usually give babyshowers, theirs as well. We had a good time with games, food, and presents.

Some of the games played were guessing my girth, guess that baby food flavor, and “Who’s Who” (where you guess who’s baby photo belongs to who). The food was very traditional babyshower food, such as fruit and veggie plates, finger sandwiches, and cake.

Bryce and I received great gifts, even gifts from family across the ocean. There were plenty of clothes, a few blankets, a hand painted night light, Tommee Tippee bottles, a bouncy chair, sponges, baby ointments, mommy oils, Timberland shoes, and a Minnesota Twins outfit (I wonder who sent that?!?). I had a good time and I’m happy to have introduced a babyshower to my English friends.

I’m so glad the shower was fun, and that our gift arrived on time! It looks like you got lots of neat things. Thanks for posting all the pictures so we could see everything. That’s interesting that the English don’t have baby showers. Maybe you started a new tradition for them?!

The shower looked like a fun time, Niki. I enjoyed looking at the pictures. You look very happy too! Did your English friends have a good time? I can’t believe that they don’t have baby showers there. Maybe they will from now on? We are going to wait till you have the baby so we can get you something that relates to the baby’s gender =)

Amy, everyone had a good time and I hope I have started a new tradition for them too! (The English I mean). I’m glad you enjoyed the pics.
